The Little River

The Little River is a minor tributary of the larger Uwharrie River. It runs thru Troy and Montgomery County before entering Richmond Co. and Blewett Falls Lake.

In addition to game fish, the Little River and other area streams have been documented to hold a number of rare aquatic animals, including the Atlantic pigtoe, brook floater, and Carolina creekshell mussels — all considered endangered by the state of North Carolina.
